With war ongoing in Ukraine and continued murder and destruction, it feels trivial to write about football. But as the anthem says – “The glory and freedom of Ukraine has not yet perished” and competing in sports at the highest level is a platform to keep Ukraine in the news, and show that Ukraine is a sovereign state, despite the latest Genocidal atrocities being committed against it.

Unfortunately, the war goes on. And Ukraine continues to need your support. So please keep sharing news about what is happening in Ukraine, write to your MP or representatives, support refugees and love Ukraine.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine – The Donestk Way Ukrainian Footballers of the Year 2022

This year, football has certainly not been the most important thing going on. But it has continued. And it continues in Ukraine and for Ukrainians because of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Without them, there is no football. Therefore, this year, they are the Donetsk Way – Ukrainian Footballers of the Year 2022.

The fans voiced there support at Ukraine National Team games in the emotional World Cup Play-Offs and throughout the Nations League campaign.

The Armed Forces defended Kyiv and the North fighting off the invaders, held the line in Donbas and wrestled back control with counter attacks in Kharkiv and Kherson. They continue to defend the skies over Ukraine, saving the lives of Ukrainians across the country, while putting theirs on the line. We hope 2023 brings the final victory for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and for all Ukrainians.

We urge you to continue to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukraine and Ukrainians in anyway you can, until victory.
